Philosophy, preliminary information
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist through the state of Minnesota, a board-certified music therapist, and fellow in the Association of Music and Imagery. In my work, my specialties are: bringing creativity into the therapeutic process, working with adolescents and their families, and working with women who have mentally ill mothers. In my personal life, I am a mother and a wife and enjoy participating in the arts. I think systemically and strongly believe in maintaining my own health in order to operate from a healthy perspective.
I am in the process of completing my AAMFT-Approved Supervisor designation and am currently mentored by Stacy Saindon. I believe the purpose of supervision is to ensure competence of MFT therapists, to help therapists to grow into their own orientations and to operate from an ethical and well-informed stance. My supervision often includes self-of-the-therapist work, but I recognize trainees’ rights to privacy and that trainees do not need to complete self-of-the therapist work in order to successfully complete supervision.
The cost is $60/hour for individual supervision and $90/hour for a dyad ($45/person).
